The eBay Green Team is committed to helping people find new purposes for the things in the world that have already been made, which saves energy, water, and landfill space.

Being a more sustainable shopper doesn't mean trading off great deals or style. It can be as easy as taking a fresh look at the cool stuff around you, and having some fun along the way. In this spirit, we've teamed up with three incredible initiatives that are fusing creativity and innovation with vintage and repurposed goods to redefine what sustainable consumption really means.

ecofabulous & Global Green USA

The third and final phase of re+purpose is focused on the stylish, sustainable stuff curated by DIY maven Zem Joaquin, ecofabulous' founder and editor-in-chief as well as Global Green USA board member. From November 4-19, the eBay Green Team will hold a Creative Reuse Competition, a national call for the best examples of DIY projects — made from reused items — from around the country. Entries will be juried by Zem and eBay Green Team, and the winner will receive a $1,000 shopping experience on eBay plus a personal consultation with Zem.

For the duration of the collaboration, the Green Team is featuring custom content from Zem to serve as inspiration, and will reward new and returning members with $1* donated on their behalf to Global Green USA, the American affiliate of President Gorbachev's Green Cross International, a leading environmental organization focused on fostering a global value shift to reconnect humanity with the environment by creating healthy, affordable green homes, schools, and communities.
